What should you know if you’re interested in joining?
Membership is open to any undergraduate female student in the Montreal area. You do not need to be a Concordia student to join, although our sorority is based at Concordia.

Zeta Tau Omega Sorority does not discriminate based on ethnicity, age, religion, or social class. If you attend any of our events, you will be met with an extremely diverse group of young women, representing all parts of the world.

What do sororities DO?
Zeta Tau Omega has many events during the year:
– Charity Events
– Parties
– Mixers with other Fraternities and Sororities

We also have other events to which only members can attend, such as:
– Our Annual Mother-Daughter banquet
– Our Annual Father-Daughter event
– Sweetheart Rose Ball (Our annual formal dinner and ball)
– Other recreation activities for sisters, including movie nights, karaoke, weekend retreats, and road trips.

Take a peek at our photo galleries of these events!

How do I become a sister?
Most (although not all) sororities and fraternities follow a standard procedure to become a member. To become a sister of Zeta Tau Omega Sorority, you should first be aware of certain important periods during the school semester.

RUSH
This is a period at the beginning of the Fall and Winter semester. These first weeks of school are the time at which you will find our Rush Tables set up throughout the school and give you a chance to talk to some sisters, pick up a few pamphlets, and check out our photo albums!

During the Rush period, it is your chance to meet our sisters at our Rush events. These events will allow you to meet new people and find out what we’re all about. You can check the details of our Rush events in our calendar, or better yet on our Facebook page which we update frequently. Don’t be shy and come say hello. We’re excited to meet you!

If you have shown an active interest in our organization, you will then become a PLEDGE of the sorority; basically, this is a probationary period where you learn about the history and values of the sorority, and must show an active involvement in the organization’s activities.

** To satisfy everyone’s curiousity, Zeta Tau Omega’s Constitutional by-laws on hazing forbid the use of alcohol, drugs, or any sexual activity during pledging events, so don’t worry! We do not do anything illegal!

** Also, our motto is “YOU CHOOSE US, WE DON’T CHOOSE YOU!” This means that we do not “blackball.” That means that we do not pick and choose a select group of girls based on certain criteria. Zeta Tau Omega feels that diversity and open-mindedness have made us the longest standing sorority on campus.

Thank you for showing interest in our organization and we hope to see you out sometime soon!
